BEIJING

Beijing is perhaps the most spectacular city of Asia, highlighting thousands of years of Chinese civilization. Beijing can be either the start or end-point of a Trans-Siberian journey through Manchuria or Mongolia to Moscow, or encompass a Silk Route journey taking one into the Western interior of China, Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries.

There are four world-class attractions in Beijing:
The Forbidden City, an expanse comprising more than one thousand buildings, the home of 24 Chinese emperors.
The Temple of Heaven, site of imperial ceremonies where emperors visited to pray for good harvests.
The Summer Palace, an expanse of imperial palaces and temples on the outskirts of Beijing.
The Great Wall and Ming Tombs (day trip excursion from Beijing)
